Speaking Here and There

aacxPresentations continue. I’ll be giving a talk for the Middlesex County Historical Society. “Overcoming the Odds: Anna Louise James and Ann Petry Gamble and Win” will feature discussion and readings from African American Connecticut Explored with mention of, and opportunity to purchase, signed copies of Can Anything Beat White?: A Black Family’s Letters and At Home Inside: A Daughter’s Tribute to Ann Petry.

The festivities begin Tuesday February 24 at 7 p.m. at Russell Library in Middletown.

In coming weeks, there’ll be a presentation for the Connecticut Library Association and then a return to Russell Library for a more in-depth talk about Mother. Stay tuned…
